In an analysis involving 51 middle-aged Pima American Indians diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, researchers employed the NIH Toolbox Cognitive Battery — a set of memory and language assessments created by the National Institutes of Health — coupled with MRI scans to understand the link between diabetes, cognitive function, and brain composition.
