"While the imagery includes artists’ renditions, Vesely says they’re based upon scientific underpinnings, including the use of multiple real-world databases to achieve a high degree of accuracy. Forty thousand galaxies’ positions were included, from the 2MASS Redshift Survey, with 100,000 nearby stars from the Hipparcos catalog, to brain connections from the Human Connectome project and DNA atom positions from the Protein Data Bank."
